Mike grew up in Palm Beach County and spent his high school years working at Moffitt Inlet Marina, which is now Safe Harbor New Port Cove Marine Center. He then attended the University of Florida, receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1991. Mike earned his 100 Ton Master’s License while working in the Bahamas aboard a liveaboard SCUBA diving charter vessel in the early ’90s before heading to the oilfields of the Gulf of Mexico and spending over two decades in the marine construction field as a commercial deep-sea diver. He has over 1500 surface-supplied dives and spent 257 days in saturation, with the deepest dive to 540 feet. During that time he spent over 4000 days at sea (11 years). Mike ended his offshore career as a diving supervisor for Oceaneering International, working off of the west coast of Africa to be at home full time with his two young children.
In addition to working full time as a broker for DH Yacht Sales, Mike does occasional work as a captain, is a right fielder for the On Track softball team in the Florida Half Century Amateur Softball Association, does yacht photography and is a private pilot. He was a hitting coach for his kids’ baseball team and is presently teaching them to free dive.
Born and raised in St. Augustine, Florida, fishing has always been in Drew’s blood. His grandpa lived in Cudjoe Key when he was younger and they spent every chance they had chasing lobsters, yellowtail, mangrove snappers, mahis and sailfish in the keys. He’ll never forget dropping back to his first sail when he was 11 years old; billfish have had him hooked ever since.
He worked on several of the best charter boats in NE Florida through high school and college and then moved on to a private boat sector and eventually got his Captains license and stepped up to the bridge. His first Captain job was on a 1960 Rybovich, and he currently runs a 58′ Weaver. He and his wife have been blessed with a baby girl who is now 5 years old, and he feels very lucky to be able to run an awesome sportfishing program in his hometown and in the Bahamas. He has run some private charters in St. Augustine and with plans to travel north to fish the White Marlin Open this year.
He is an asset to the DH Yachts Sales’ team both in terms of his deep industry knowledge and St. Augustine location.
Chase was raised in Boca Raton, Florida, and has been involved with boats throughout his entire life. Growing up, his father always had boats, and would frequently journey to the Bahamas to fish.
Boats have always been a passion of his, so it was only natural that he found himself working in the industry.
